Couple Tag

I got tagged by Jill. Never done anything like this- hope I get it right.

How long have you and your significant other been together?

Our first date was Sept 2 2002- though at the time I didn't think of it as a date- but Dave helped me see the light on that issue. We were together nearly every weekend after that (curse the drive from Roy to Spanish Fork- that may be why he asked me to wed- because he was tired of the driving) He proposed Feb 16, 2003 and we were married June 7, 2003.

Who eats more?
Dave usually. Though I definitely eat my fair share- cookie dough is evil.

Who said "I love you" first?

Who is taller?

Who sings better?

That depends on who you ask. Our kids choice: Dave. When we were driving the other night Dave was singing to Izzy and Corban. When he stopped I started the next song- bad move. Isabelle started crying and Corban waved his hand and said "no mom, Dadddy sing." I really like to sing. Does that count?

Who is smarter?

Probably Corban- he is always surprising us with new ways of manipulation.

Who does the laundry?
Mostly me- The trouble is in getting all the clean clothes put away. :)

Who does the dishes?

We both do. I suspect I do them more, being home with the kids and all.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?

Who pays the bills?

Dave makes the big bucks-I make the payments.

Who mows the lawn?

I think I do it more often. We both like to do it- though finding the time and having someone to help watch kids prevent our efforts in maintaining a well kept lawn.

Who cooks dinner?

Me. But I think Dave is a better cook than I am- but I am learning. You can't become a genious chef overnight.

Who drives when you are together?
Dave- until a recent addition to the family

Who is more stubborn?
Both of us share the title of most stubborn-

Who is the first to admit when they're wrong?
Probably me, I hate fighting

Whose parents do you see the most?

It's a toss up. Depends on the month.

Who kissed who first?
I think we just kissed each other- and Dave's dad saw.

Who proposed?

Who is more sensitive?
Definitely me- they say don't cry over spilled milk, but I don't know how that is possible. :)

Who has more friends?

me. 1

Who has more siblings?
Dave (8)
Rach (3)

HaPpY VaLeNTiNe'S DaY!

Update on Corban

Corban doesn't have many pants that fit (easily) over his splint.
His wannabe cast goes from his toes to his mid-upper thigh. Not very comfy for the little guy. He is getting used to asking for help, but the poor guy is hurting- he says "owie" alot.

I got ambitious today and made him some pants. I got the material from the discount bin at walmart a month ago- not bad for $1.68.

He especially loves them, because he can point out all the letters. He was really excited to put them on. :)

Corban is getting more mobile with his splint on. He can scoot around the room and can even get safely (most the time) to the floor from the couch. He needs to be carried up or down stairs, and put onto chairs or the couch, but he is all over now!

Since Brad broke the news. . . .I'll tell

Brad, how did you hear about that?!
Nevertheless, the rumors are true. We have mold! I was going to wait to spill the beans when I post pictures of the finished bathrooms. I took 'before' pictures and will post before/after shots when they are completed. We have to treat both bathrooms.

The good news- I always hated the linoleum in the upstairs bathroom. Really, the linoleum in there was white with a shiny gold "cracks" pattern. Who picked that out? I guess it "matched" the rest of our quirky house. The people that lived here before did some interesting things. (Think wierd shelving everywhere and pencil sharpeners in ever closet- but maybe they needed to sharpen alot of pencils.) This way I get new linoleum. Too bad the mold didn't require new countertops . . . :)

The bad news-
We have mold, eww!
It sure explains why Dan had such bad asthma attacks when he would stay here. (Sorry Dan.)
The upstairs bathroom had a slow leak (probably a drip) into the downstairs bathroom- over the years I guess mold decided it could set up camp and get cozy. We should have both bathrooms back by next Thursday. I am so glad that the insurance covered it. We will have to come up with the deductible . . . but it's definitely worth it to make my house safe for my family. I am glad we found it. Better now than never.

make shift walker

Earlier in the day Isabelle stood up by the stairs and walked along the wall (james bond/spy style) I wish I could have recorded more, maybe I will get another chance. :) She is so darling.

While talking to Nicole today Isabelle decided that she needed to do some walking about the kitchen. She didn't have a walker near by so she had to make do. :)

This picture of President Thomas S. Monson as a kid is so cute! I had to share it. It reminds me of a picture of my Grandpa Dale when he was 3 years old.
I am grateful the Church has such a great website and newsroom so we can have access to stories, info, and pictures like this. It is really amazing.

Birthday GiRl!!!

Our little sweetie Isabelle turned 1 on Feb 1st!
UpDaTes and RaNdOm Info:
She has 6 teeth with 4 molars on the way!
She LOVES the stairs.
She will eat almost anything you give her (obviously)
If Dave is around she doesn't want anything to with ANYONE else.
She loves to laugh.

Here is the pregression of her cake eating.

Thank you so much to everyone that came to celebrate with us. Thank you for the fantastic gifts and thank you for sharing a fun night with us!

I can hardly believe she is a year old! Time sure flies.

I remember driving to the hospital in my flip-flops (because I thought it was a false alarm). Dave was at home with Corban, but then I was admitted and he had to call Grandma Connie to come stay with Corban. :)
Isabelle is so patient and loving. She just started "cuddling" when you hold her. She lays her head down near your shoulder- and and grins at people with that cute little smirk!

Our speedy crawler now likes to attempt walking around the furniture. She is so precious!

I have been promising a good picture of Dave's beard . . . Here is our most recent family picture, taken Last Sunday (Feb 3)
